The famous electronic music portal 1001Tracklists shows us the winners of one of the most influential lists in the industry.
After an intense year marked by many releases, 1001 Tracklists launches its list with the most impact in the world of production. This is “Top 101 Producers 2021”, a must-read stop every year, in which we discover who have been the fittest artists in production studios. In this 2021 edition, the sixth in its history, we have the possibility to continue discovering artists of great caliber and talent. Some of them are not so popular, but their works have managed to place themselves on the roof of the musical Olympus.
The first place this year in the “Top 101 Producers 2021” of 1001 Tracklists has been for Vintage Culture. The Brazilian artist has signed a masterful career during the past year, thus obtaining more than 1500 votes. This year, Vintage Culture has released more than twenty – three titles, between originals and remixes. Among them, he has remixed artists of the stature of Calptone, Rüfüs du Sol, Meduza and Steve Angello. In addition to this, his music continues to grow in reproductions on Spotify, which has exceeded one hundred and fifty million playsin its remix together with Slow Motion to “Slow Down.” One of the most viral hits of recent times.
Following in the wake of the Brazilian, is David Guetta, ranking second. They are followed by the British Kryder, who is still immersed in his Kriteria Music Group project, led by Sosumi Records. This has brought him a forty-two position advance over last year’s list. In fourth place we find the emblematic Armin Van Buuren, who drops one position with respect to the fifth edition. And in fifth position we find the American John Summit, who has starred in the top entry in the 1001Tracklists “Top 101 Producers 2021” list.
Both Culture Vintage and John Summit were featured in the Loud Cave writing team earlier this year. They were two of the names chosen in the entry “Ten artists who will explode in 2021”, where we talked about the trajectory and why they were going to give something to talk about this year.
In addition to Summit, there have been several debuts on the list this year. Guz, KREAM, Malarkey, Bleu Clair, Matt Nash, Tim Hox, Ferry Corsten, Ferreck Dawn, DONT BLINK, Redondo, Franky Wah, Daave Ruthwell, Christoph, Chapter & Verse, DJ KUBA & NEITAN, Marsh, Galosky, Xijaro & Pitch, ASCO, Riva Starr, Protoculture, Afrojack, NUBZ, Almero, Timmy Trumpet, Tycoos, Dubdogz, VOLAC MARch Foward, DOD, Size 2XLC, Tom Budin, Qubiko, Cloone, WILL K, Going Deeper, Alexander Popov, Sean Tyas, MADDOW and Castion. A total of forty-three new faces compared to last year. Castion is our only national representative on this list offered by 1001Tracklists, occupying the 59th position, with more than 500 votes in his favor.
It is surprising that there are artists who do not appear on this list, since for their releases, they deserve all the recognition. This is the case of Lane 8, Luttrell, Ben Böhmer, Disclosure, Claptone or Above & Beyond. However, the variability of new artists who can surprise us in lists of this category is always good.
